The University of Opole has hosted  Vice-Rectors for Academic and Student Affairs from Opole and Wrocław universities. The annual conference is an opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions about challenges facing universities in our region. Demographic decline, quality of education and the changing conditions of higher education were the predominant issues discussed during the meeting. Special attention was paid to issues associated with the new law on higher education, and the issue of the postgraduate studies in the light of the Law on the Integrated System of Qualifications of December 22, 2015.

The session began with a meeting with Rector of the University of Opole, Professor Marek Masnyk and the former Rector of our University, Professor Stanislaw S. Nicieja. The conference was hosted and chaired by Prof. Izabella Pisarek, Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs. After long deliberations, the participants had an opportunity to walk around the Collegium Maius and the University Hill. Professor Nicieja, who is now the curator of the Hill, served as a guide and revealed the secrets of the building and the hill to the distinguished guests.
