Central European International Week

The University of Opole invites students and scholars to participate in the Central European International Week organised by the University of Opole on 16th – 20th April 2018, during which we will host staff members of international offices and academics from such disciplines as linguistics literature, economics, sociology, political science, etc., who will come from our partner universities in Japan, Taiwan, China, Indonesia, Iran, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Montenegro.

The International Week will be opened on Monday, April 16, 2018, at 10 a.m., at the Senate Hall (Collegium Maius) by Vice-Rector, Prof. Janusz Słodczyk, who will greet the participants.

All the events held in the framework of the International Week are open to the general public.

During the training sessions and workshops our colleagues will share their knowledge and experience in their respective fields.

On 18 April, Wednesday, from 15.00 to 18.00, in the main UO building at 48 Oleska, the contact seminar will be held - the key event of the International Week, during which research teams and partner universities will present their work and explore opportunities for cooperation.

On 17-18 April, starting at 9 a.m., in the Student Culture Centre (SCK), our guests and UO academics and students will present their papers at the international conference Interdisciplinarity and Transdisciplinarity – Science for Society and Human Beings, devoted to multiple aspects of interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity in various national and global contexts. Special focus will be given to how (social) sciences can be used to enhance academic interactions and communication.

The Central European International Week, under the patronage of  Vice-Rector, Professor Janusz Słodczyk, is organized by the Department of Scientific Research and International Cooperation, and in particular by the Office for International Study Programmes and the Erasmus+ Office, and supervised by Dr Katarzyna Molek-Kozakowska from the Faculty of Philology and Dr Michał Wanke from the Institute of Sociology.
