Institute of Art
Using interdisciplinary approach to visual arts as the basis the Institute conducts scientific, artistic and educational research in the field of fine arts and visual arts. The classes have form of lectures, workshops, projects, seminars and internships. The curriculum is mainly focused on developing one’s artistic techniques in different arts and that is why students spend most of their time in art rooms gaining a wide range of artistic skills. Those skills will be of great asset in their own artistic development and on the labour market as well. Since 2012 the Institute has been using a newly modernised building specially adjusted to the needs of various art disciplines.
Research:
The research of the Institute encompasses various phenomena of the contemporary culture which interpenetrate and interact. The Institute cooperates with art institutions locally, nationally and internationally realising projects and exchanging knowledge and artistic visions. A great role in the research is played by our Art Studio – created by our teacher-artists. Our interdisciplinary research aims at developing an art and science milieu in the Region, creating cultural heritage and combining art with other fields of science and economy. It also tries to involve the society in cultural and artistic activities humanising their existence and introducing new values.
